White City is London’s next big thing!
Many people often ask me, being in the UK property industry for over 11 years and seeing so many new developments across the UK and London, where did I invest my money?
In 2019, I was introduced to Berkeley Group’s St James flagship development, White City Living - and immediately committed to a unit in the development. White City is located in Zone 2 of West London and has been making quite the name for itself recently, and for all the right reasons. I’d love to share with you the top 10 reasons why White City Living is such an attractive investment for me!
1. Regeneration Plan
White City is an area undergoing a significant transformation backed by the Mayor of London and the Hammersmith & Fulham Council. The White City Opportunity Area covers 110 hectares, and the regeneration plan aims to provide an estimated 6,000 new homes and 10,000 jobs, making White City one of London’s most enviable hotspots for growing businesses with the focus on creative industries and bio-medical research innovation. The Council also aims to create new open spaces and improved facilities for its local communities.

2. Affluent Neighbors
White City is an area in West London which is surrounded by traditional and affluent neighbors such as Kensington, Holland Park and Notting Hill. New developments in these areas can go up to as high as £4,000 p.s.f. where white City averages £1,300 p.s.f. Hence I see great value!
3. Accessibility
Having lived in Hong Kong for over 10 years, I have noticed that we are so fortunate to have developments located above MTR stations. White City Living is no different, with two Zone 2 tube stations at your doorstep, life is as convenient as it can get! The A40 motorway is also a 1-minute drive away, providing quick access to Heathrow and other parts of London, and beyond.
4. The Central Line
One the most convenient tube lines in London has to be the Central line. With White City Station literally right by the development, it provides direct access to Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Holborn and Bank station. In addition, there is also the convenience of the Circle Line and Hammersmith and City Line at Wood Lane Station. You can access these three lines in 2 minutes, a short walk from your doorstep.
5. Shop ‘til you drop
With the current expansion, Westfield London is now the largest covered shopping mall in Europe with over 450 shops and restaurants, a VUE cinema and John Lewis as its anchor tenant. Going forward, the shopping mall will continue to serve as the retail heartbeat of White City, and is a wonderful facility for residents and businesses alike to have near home.

6. Next door to an iconic landmark: The BBC Television Centre
At the heart of White City’s regeneration is the redevelopment of the iconic BBC’s Television Centre into one of London’s largest mixed-use schemes. BBC includes provision of up to 950 new homes, office space, TV studios, a hotel, a cinema, Soho House private members’ club, restaurants and bars. This is truly a destination for many well-known celebs and people in the creative and design industry!

7. White City Place Commercial District
Occupying over a million sq. ft. of commercial space, White City Place is home to renowned companies and colleges such as the Royal College of Arts, ITV Studios, L’Oreal, Pharmaceutical company Norvatis, Hong Kong-based group Li and Fung, as well as Singapore investment group Mapletree. Over 3,000 employees work here every day, making White City an extremely vibrant neighbourhood during both day and night.
8. Gateway to Imperial College’s new campus
Directly north of White City Living is Imperial College’s newest 23-acre campus. Imperial College is consistently ranked as the world’s top 10 academic institutions and is on the cutting edge of science, technology, medicine and business. The new White City Campus is a space for Imperial College to grow and cultivate new collaborations with businesses and academia, its local community and other partners. Imperial College will be occupying 10,000 sq. ft of commercial and residential spaces at The Westmont Club Residence, which will become a gateway to their White City Campus.
9. Unrivalled residents’ amenities
Residents in White City Living will have access to the more than 8 acres of parkland and gardens, the Home Club with 24-hour concierge, a swimming pool with a sun terrace, a therapeutic hydropool, a gym, treatment and massage rooms, a dining room and private kitchen, two private 12-seat cinemas, a business lounge, meeting rooms, Club Lounge, a café and an entertainment suite. The new phase at Westmont will also feature London’s first roof-top Mediterranean beach club!
10. The Berkeley Experience
From the beginning of the reservation process all the way through completion and handover, St James has provided me with seamless experience and customer service. With its impeccable standards, there were no snags in the apartment. Roller blinds were also provided for all windows, saving me money. I found a tenant within 2 weeks from taking possession. A definite Five-Star experience!
Due to a huge shortage of high-quality housing in White City, the accessibility to world class retail, leisure and academic facilities, I firmly foresee great potential in White City Living that I would proudly recommend my friends and clients to invest in the development.
White City has all of the ingredients to become one of London’s most exciting destinations.
